And Yet Another Memorable Visit with Patients, Families, & Staff at AliveHospice I probably need to work on some new titles for these reports to our friends and supporters. We only know to expect MEMORABLE visits at AliveHospice, Nashville. And such was the case again September 24th. We were able to focus on Hospice on this day since our customary morning visit with our kiddos at Tri-Star Centennial Children’s Hospital had been postponed. One of our visits here today was with “Melvin” who we met and spent time with two weeks ago; it is a bit bittersweet to “return visit” with folks. Melvin was alone this time since his wife had opted to avoid the impending rain. He remembered our visit but this did not stop us from reminding him with his “Melvin Song”, which again produced a wonderful “thumbs up” wide grin. After visiting and laughing together for a few minutes like old friends, we all decided to try something a little different. Fortunately one of our established quartets was with us today. We asked No GreenBananas to step out and sing a couple of their songs. It was soooo warm to see Melvin grin, smile, and tap his fingers as No Green Bananas sang a fun song by The Drifters, “Under the Boardwalk”. Between a few more patients-and-families visits we were introduced to a new Staff RN who would be serving HomeCare patients. Even after closely focusing on her name badge neither our host “Julie’ nor any of us wanted to try to pronounce U-r-u-s-h-l-a. Urushla offered that it was not that difficult. YOU RUSH LA We had never met a Urushla prior to this and had never sung “The Urushla Song” – until NOW! We also provided Urushla with our version of the Mary Poppins’ favorite “ A Spoonful of Sugar”, since we were not likely to see her again here at the residence facility
