On September 5, 2025 Nashville Music Medics was represented by our own Senior Quartet, No Green Bananas, for the monthly visit to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, on the Seacrest Studio Stage, to an enthusiastic gathering of patients and families as well as staff and passers-by. While this is our regularly scheduled visit for the closed circuit broadcast to everyone, it is ALWAYS so much fun and inspiration to have REAL LIVE visitors to interact with (which always means delivering our personalized “Name Song” to one of the children). Following this program to the Children’s Hospital we were met by Julie Bulger who escorted us to the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center across the street for our second appearance there in the patient waiting area and lobby. Once again the enthusiasm from the gathered families and passers-by indeed was almost beyond description. The addition of the VICC has been a wonderful addition to our outreach; and we are able to interact with our audience friends and experience the smiles and grins. Heartwarming and heartening.
As we concluded our program and were talking with visitors and patients, “Christian” and his family were passing by. They had missed the earlier program however we are always at-the-ready. No Green Bananas offered that personalized “Name Song” which was delivered and enthusiastically received. Our baritone even received a non-verbal “high five” as they left the area.
