Nashville Music Medics in Tune at Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt
What a glorious day for the Nashville Music Medics when we sang for the children and their families at Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, on Friday, May 2, 2025.
Today marked another first for the Medics, as we were able to bring in a full complement of singers, since our visitation rules were lifted for the first time. We had been limited to four singers; sounded like a quartet! Plus, we were also able to make contact with the personnel in the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, who have requested a visit from the Medics. (We’ll be visiting there in June)
Onto the singing! We had some very special guests watch our performance today. One little lady was all set to go home and made her Mom stay so she could listen to the “concert.” Of course we sang just for her our favorite song - "The Name Song".
We had one little boy who, when he arrived really didn’t want to be there, but as soon as we started he broke out into a huge smile as we sang “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” After that, the smile never left his face.
All in all, a pretty great day! The power of music wins again.
It’s Great to be a Nashville Music Medic
